Job summary

Qube Research & Technologies is building its data infrastructure team to ingest, process, and serve large-scale data. You will design, review and implement services, and work with stakeholders across teams to understand business and technical needs.

We value strong knowledge of algorithms, multi-language server development, and experience with big data tools to keep our systems robust and scalable.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Proficiency in server-side languages (Rust, C++, Go, Java).
• Experience writing high-performance, multithreaded server code.
• Understanding of big data tools and ecosystems (Elasticsearch, Kafka, BigTable, Cassandra).
• Excellent communication and writing skills for cross-team collaboration.

You will join the data i** nfrastructure team** dedicated to the ingestion, processing and serving of large amounts of data at scale. Data is at the heart of everything QRT does, with exponentially growing needs. The candidate will push the edges of one of the most demanding data systems in the world, working on a variety of subjects such as real time pub sub, sharded databases and so on.

Your future role within QRT:

• Design, review and implement services and clients.
• Consistently apply and help evolve coding best practices: review peer code, lead or participate in design reviews, with a focus on code quality, testability, and efficiency.
• Work with stakeholders and customers to understand their business needs, technical needs, and react accordingly.
• Triage and investigate system issues and debug/track/resolve to ensure the robustness of our operations.

Your present skillset:

• Excellent knowledge of algorithms and data structures, as well as system design.
• Proficiency in at least one prominent server-side programming language ( Rust , C++, Go, Java, etc…).
• Experience writing high performance server code, multithreading, caching strategies, asynchronous IO, etc…
• An overall understanding of the big data landscape, knowing the design, strengths and drawbacks of tools such as Elasticsearch, Kafka, BigTable, Cassandra etc…
• Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments.
