Yahoo News seeks a Designer, Visual Storytelling & Social to translate editorial reporting into engaging social content across Instagram, TikTok and emerging formats. You will craft carousels, explainers, maps and interactive experiences, shaping Yahoo's editorial visual storytelling across platforms with strong storytelling instincts.

The role blends editorial design, audience engagement and experimentation with new technologies, including AI-assisted workflows and platform-native storytelling.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of applicable design and illustration experience.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating design and illustration skills with clear examples of social content, data visualization or interactive editorial work.
• Experience designing for social platforms, particularly Instagram and TikTok.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
• Familiarity with Ceros, Mapbox, AI-powered creative tools or similar platforms.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• Passion for journalism, visual storytelling and emerging media formats.

Responsabilités

• Translate Yahoo editorial reporting into engaging social content for Instagram, TikTok and emerging platforms.
• Design carousels, story sequences, explainers and visual packages optimized for audience engagement.
• Collaborate closely with the Social team on platform strategy, content planning and breaking news coverage.
• Develop and evolve Yahoo News and Entertainment's social visual identity and recurring editorial franchises.
• Create scalable templates, toolkits and workflows that support quality content production.
• Design interactive editorial experiences using tools such as Ceros and other storytelling platforms.
• Create map-based storytelling experiences using Mapbox and related tools.
• Design graphics and animations that support short-form video storytelling across multiple platforms.
• Explore AI-assisted creative workflows and emerging storytelling technologies.
• Experiment with new approaches to content creation, prototyping and audience engagement while maintaining editorial standards and visual quality.
