Electrify is seeking a Freelance Short-Form Video Editor & Motion Designer to shape the short-form presence for fern and Simplicissimus. You will handle the full post-production pipeline from editing to 3D/2D animation and sound design, working with scriptwriters and art directors.

This remote freelance role requires a few days per month initially. You will collaborate with a global remote team, deliver high-quality, story-driven visuals, and stay current with platform trends and formats for

Qualifications

• Proven experience editing short-form video content for social platforms.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating engaging, story-driven visual content.
• Outstanding video editing skills with proficiency in Premiere Pro.
• Strong 2D motion design skills with After Effects and Illustrator.
• Extensive 3D animation skills with Blender.
• Solid understanding of sound design for short-form video.
• Ability to work efficiently and deliver high-quality output within tight timeframes.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with remote teams.
• Familiarity with fern, Simplicissimus, or similar documentary-led channels.
• Fluent English required; German skills are preferred.

About the role

As a Freelance Short-Form Video Editor & Motion Designer, you will play a key role in shaping the short-form presence of fern and Simplicissimus. Working closely with our scriptwriters and art directors, you will handle the full post-production pipeline – from editing and sound design to 3D and 2D animation. This is a remote, freelance position requiring a few days per month for now.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and produce short-form video content for social platforms.

• Develop visual concepts aligned with fern's and Simplicissimus' established aesthetic.

• Design and animate engaging 3D and 2D animations to support the edit.

• Add sound design to round off each video.

• Collaborate with scriptwriters and art directors to ensure visuals translate storytelling effectively.

• Adapt existing long-form visual assets for short-form formats where relevant.

• Iterate on work based on feedback and performance insights.

• Stay up to date with short-form visual trends and platform best practices.

Skills and experience

• Proven experience editing short-form video content for social platforms.

• A strong portfolio demonstrating engaging, story-driven visual content.

• Outstanding video editing skills with proficiency in Premiere Pro.

• Strong 2D motion design skills, with proficiency in After Effects and Illustrator.

• Extensive 3D animation skills, with proficiency in Blender.

• Solid understanding of sound design for short-form video.

• Ability to work efficiently and deliver high-quality output within tight timeframes.

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with remote teams.

• Familiarity with fern, Simplicissimus, or similar documentary-led channels.

• Fluent English required; German skills are preferred.

Rate: EUR 250 - 400/day (depending on experience. This will be converted into the currency of where you are based)
