Clariant seeks a Senior Specialist Regulatory Affairs Biodiversity EAME to ensure compliance with biodiversity due diligence regulations and implement harmonized systems across the organization. The role coordinates with R&D, sustainability and purchasing, engages internal and external stakeholders, and represents Clariant in external groups.

The position requires 3-5 years of regulatory experience, advanced degree in science/regulatory fields, and strong project management and communication

Responsabilités

• Ensure compliance with biodiversity-related due diligence regulations (Nagoya Protocol, ABS, EU Deforestation Regulation).
• Develop and harmonize due diligence systems across Clariant entities.
• Coordinate ABS compliance with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Respond to customer inquiries on biodiversity topics and due diligence.
• Lead internal working groups on ABS and EUDR; represent LMC in external groups.
• Participate in events and trainings to raise awareness and stay updated on regulations.

Senior Specialist Regulatory Affairs Biodiversity EAME

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance against due diligence regulations related to biodiversity (mainly the Nagoya Protocol and associated ABS regulations and EU Deforestation Regulation).
• Implement/Consolidate harmonized control/due diligence systems within LMC by Clariant entities
  - Develop due diligence concepts and systems (policy)
  - Systematically assess the compliance of projects/sourcings towards these regulations in terms of risks (reputational, legal, commercial)
  - Coordinate with R&D, sustainability and purchasing to manage new and existing sourcing
  - Develop risk mitigation and securization plans with teams concerned
  - Develop and implement guidelines and processes/SOP
• Coordinate the ABS compliance of projects with internal (R&D, purchasing, sustainability, legal) and external stakeholders (authorities, partners, suppliers)
• Answer customer’s requests on these topics
• Coordinate internal working groups on ABS and EUDR
• Represent LMC in external working groups regarding these topics
• Participate in events related to ethical sourcing and due diligence
• Work on awareness-raising among teams and perform trainings
• Regular watch on other due diligence regulations, local laws, and emergent topics (ex: DSI)

Requirements:

• Min 3-5 years’ experience
• Master’s degree, engineering diploma, or PhD in science, regulatory, sustainability
• Ability to engage multiple stakeholders towards compliance
• Ability to apply complex national legislation
• Ability to coordinate international projects and to adapt to various international context
