Our Client, a NewSpace startup in Paris, seeks a Senior Mechanisms Engineer to lead deployment and actuation design for ultra-lightweight structures used in space hardware.

You will own the full product lifecycle from concept through production, collaborating with a team including former SpaceX engineers and mentoring junior staff to ensure robust, flight-proven mechanisms that meet stringent mass and reliability requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' direct experience designing moving mechanisms, including deployables, gearboxes, actuators, or precision linkages.

Responsabilités

• Lead the design, development, and qualification of deployment mechanisms, hinges, latches, gear trains, and actuators for lightweight structural applications.
• Conduct comprehensive analyses (kinematics, load paths, friction, backlash, tolerances) through lifecycle stages.
• Engage hands-on with hardware assembly and testing (deployment cycles, vacuum, thermal, cycling).
• Collaborate across teams to meet mass, reliability, launch load, and orbital environment specs.
• Establish and execute integration, verification, and validation plans at mechanism and system levels.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best design practices.
