Job summary

SMG Swiss Marketplace Group seeks a Senior Software Engineer to shape the mobile experience for Ricardo, spanning iOS, Android, shared Kotlin Multiplatform code, and backend services. You will own features from concept to production, collaborating across Product and Design to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

You will contribute to iOS and Android apps, share logic via Kotlin Multiplatform, and help evolve the APIs that power the user experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building products and shopping code to production.
• Strong production mobile experience on iOS or Android.
• Willingness to work across iOS, Android, shared Kotlin Multiplatform code, and backend services.
• Experience beyond primary platform with contributions to another mobile platform or backend services.
• Solid backend and API sense to build required endpoints.
• Ownership and initiative to clarify problems and ship solutions.
• Good English in a international team.

Great features span the whole system. We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our General Marketplaces business unit and help shape the mobile experience on Ricardo, from our iOS and Android apps to the backend services powering them.

• Own features end to end: work with Product and Design to shape solutions, build across mobile and backend, and follow through after release.
• Build for both mobile platforms: contribute to our iOS and Android apps, creating experiences that feel right on each platform.
• Develop our shared Kotlin Multiplatform layer: share logic where it brings value and make thoughtful decisions about what belongs in shared or platform-specific code.
• Contribute to our backend: build and evolve the APIs and services your features need.

Qualifications

What you bring

Must-haves:

• 3+ years building products and shopping code to production
• Strong production mobile experience: you’ve built and shipped substantial features on iOS or Android, with deep expertise in at least one platform.
• Willingness to work across the full scope: you want to contribute to iOS, Android, shared Kotlin Multiplatform code, and backend services as a regular part of your role.
• Experience beyond your primary platform: you’ve made meaningful contributions to another mobile platform, shared mobile code, or backend services.
• Solid backend and API sense: you can build the endpoints your app needs, not just consume them.
• Ownership and initiative: you can unblock yourself by clarifying an ambiguous problem, proposing a solution, and carrying it through to production.
• Good English: our team is international and English is our working language.

Nice-to haves:

• Experience building backend services, especially in Go or Java.
• Experience shipping a mobile app, having contributed to both iOS and Android.
• Experience working with Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Experience designing APIs and monitoring or troubleshooting features in production.

Location: You must be based in France, hold a valid work permit, and be willing to relocate within 100 km of our Sophia Antipolis office.
