Working in the tech team at Doctolib involves building innovative products and features to improve the daily lives of care teams and patients. We work in feature teams in an agile environment, while collaborating with product, design, and business teams.

What you’ll do We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Book Your Practitioner feature team in the Patient Health Platform domain. Our team of 5 engineers works on one of the most essential features of the patient app: the one that allows you to book your appointments with your doctor. Used in France, Germany, and Italy, this feature handles one of the largest traffic volumes (90M patients with 25M appointments/month).

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement features to improve healthcare access for patients
• Take a leading role within the team and contribute to establishing a technical vision that ensures the performance, security, and usability of the application, taking into account the future needs and the high scalability needs
• Bring your expertise and experiences to help us continuously improve the way we design, implement, test, and monitor high-quality features
• Improving the performance of key features implemented in Java and Ruby on Rails, sometimes completely challenging the status quo
• Taking leadership on delivering roadmap items (together with the team)
• Contributing to establishing a technical vision and co-drive the creation of the roadmap for next quarters

Who you are

• You are proactive, curious, collaborative and eager to learn
• You are primarily a backend engineer with expert knowledge of Java and a good knowledge of Ruby on Rails (or similar frameworks). You have a solid understanding of web technologies and software development life cycle
• You have a “user first” mindset and want to build a product focused on bringing value to its users, through secure, well-tested and pragmatic code
• You are fluent in English
