The Fork in Paris is seeking a Senior Backend or Full-Stack Engineer to work on innovative projects with AI and automation at the intersection of product, data, and operations. You will play a crucial role in simplifying operations for restaurants and enhancing their experiences both online and offline.
This role offers a permanent contract, flexible working conditions, competitive salary, bonus, and comprehensive health insurance, promoting a diverse and inclusive culture.
At TheFork we believe that the best things in life happen around the table. As the leading restaurant booking platform in Europe, we connect the broadest community of loyal diners with the world’s favorite restaurants. Powered by innovation and a deep passion for the restaurant industry, we create unique dining experiences across 11 countries.
We’re part of the Tripadvisor Group and are building a diverse, people‑first culture where respect, ownership, growth and better together values thrive.
You’ll work on problems that sit at the intersection of product, engineering, data, operations, and AI.
We care about impact, not just changing metrics. We prioritize software that changes real outcomes, such as restaurants activating faster, sales teams saving time, support workflows becoming simpler, moderation processes costing less, or internal teams making better decisions because the right data is available. We value asking questions before building, rapid prototypes for learning, clean systems for long‑term investment, and reliable software when reliability matters more than cleverness. AI and automation are tools, not decorations.
In the Growth & GTM team, we mainly work with:
Across TheFork, you may also interact with Kubernetes, AWS, RabbitMQ, and some legacy PHP/Symfony services.
We look for a senior backend or full‑stack engineer with strong engineering foundations, product judgment, curiosity, and pragmatism.
You may not enjoy this role if you prefer fully specified tickets, want to focus only on implementation, are not interested in AI, automation, or changing how work gets done, or think internal tools are less valuable than customer‑facing features. No judgment, it’s just a different kind of engineering role.
Restaurants are operationally complex, with much value trapped in manual workflows and fragmented data. There is room for engineering leverage: better onboarding flows can activate thousands of restaurants faster; smarter monetization flows can move revenue; internal automations can save hundreds of hours; data products can change how teams make decisions; pragmatic AI workflows can remove repetitive work.
We believe that we are better together, and we welcome you for who you are. We endeavor to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, age, socio‑economic & cultural background, ethnicity, faith, gender, gender expression, gender identity, ideology, national origin, race, sexual orientation, marital status, or any characteristic protected under applicable law, has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
At TheFork, we want you to bring us your unique perspectives and experiences so we can continue disrupting the restaurant industry and go from good to great.
TheFork is committed to a fair recruitment process.
