Description du poste

Established in 2017, Infinite Orbits is a NewSpace company, based in Toulouse, pushing the boundaries of in-orbit services with cutting-edge spacecraft driven by its own Rendez-Vous solution, an advanced Autonomous Vision-Based Navigation Solution. IO has two generations of missions

"Orbit Guard" provides Inspection and Space Situational Awareness services in GEO.

"Endurance" is a docking service capable of extending the life of GEO telecom satellites, by taking over AOCS takeover for 5 years.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated RPOD V&V Engineer to join our Rendezvous, Proximity Operation and Docking team. This role is key to the development and enhancement of our RPOD solution, contributing directly to the mission's success through systems engineering and problem-solving capabilities.

Job Description

Specify, prepare, and execute functional and performance verification for RPOD systems across MIL, SIL, PIL, and HIL environments, with a focus on space robotics and computer-vision (perception).

Define verification strategies, test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria, ensuring traceability to system and software algorithm requirements.

Perform simulation-based and laboratory test campaigns in robotics and vision labs, covering nominal and off-nominal operational scenarios.

Develop, simulate and verify space robotics and perception algorithms, with main focus on sensor/actuator calibration. Analyze verification results, assess performance and robustness, and produce formal verification evidence.

Identify non-conformances and support anomaly investigation and resolution.

Review and iterate on requirements to improve clarity, consistency, and testability, proposing updates based on verification findings.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of V&V tools, methods, and test frameworks.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

5+ years of work experience (PhDs are welcome) in at least two of the following domains: GNC/AOCS, Computer Vision and Robotics.

The candidate should have hand‑on experience with robotic system testing in labs and camera calibration.

Proven experience in V&V of complex systems, including test plans, procedures, and requirements traceability.

Strong background in GNC systems for RPOD.

Hands‑on experience with MIL, SIL, PIL, and HIL environments and execution of test campaigns.

Practical experience in integration, setup, and operation of test benches and hardware mock‑ups.

Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and solid programming skills in C/C++

Experience with robotics systems and vision-based navigation / perception (camera models, calibration, sensor fusion).

Ability to analyze test results, assess performance/robustness, and investigate anomalies.

Strong system‑level mindset and familiarity with ECSS / V‑cycle processes.

What we offer

The opportunity to be part of an international team transforming the space industry.
