Job summary

SoftProject GmbH is seeking an experienced frontend engineer in Lyon to shape our next-generation software. You will lead frontend architecture, deliver rich UI features, and collaborate with product teams on complex configuration and data visualization.

You will work across frontend and occasional backend services, driving architectural decisions, reusable components, and high-quality UX while communicating fluently in English and French within an agile environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Significant experience building rich user interfaces.
• Strong React expertise including: Component architecture, State management, Performance optimization and Testing strategies.
• Ability to independently design frontend architectures and define application boundaries.
• Strong sense for UI/UX and product usability.
• Experience working in agile product organizations.
• Professional English and French communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new product features, primarily in the frontend and occasionally in backend services when required.
• Contribute to architectural decisions around our microfrontend landscape.
• Define boundaries, interface contracts, shared components and deployment strategies.
• Drive high-quality user experiences across complex configuration, modelling and data visualization screens.
• Collaborate closely with Product and challenge requirements constructively.
• Influence technical direction rather than simply implementing specifications.
• Improve and maintain existing products (around 20%).
• Develop a deep understanding of customer use cases and business processes.

What we are looking for:

Required skills

• 6+ years of professional software development experience

Build the future product (around 80%)

You'll play a key role in shaping both the product and its architecture:

• Implement enhancements and bug fixes in our Java/Spring applications
• Develop a deep understanding of customer use cases and business processes
• Help ensure reliability and quality in business-critical systems

Salary range: 55-60k
