Qonto is seeking an Android Engineer to build the mobile experience used by hundreds of thousands of European businesses. You’ll own features end-to-end, from discovery and design through rollout, in a Kotlin-based modular codebase.

You will drive technical decisions with Product, Design, Backend, and Frontend teams, raise reliability, improve performance, and mentor peers to raise engineering standards in an AI-first environment.

Location: You can choose to work at Qonto as long as you're living in (or willing to relocate to) either Germany, France, Italy, Serbia, Portugal, or Spain.

Mission

Join us as an Android Engineer and help us build the mobile experience that 600,000+ European businesses rely on every day to manage their finances. You'll own product-critical features end-to-end - from technical design to rollout - in a large, modular Kotlin codebase where craft and velocity both matter. You'll work closely with Product, Design, Backend, and Frontend.

What you'll do

• Own features end-to-end: You'll take ownership from discovery and technical design through implementation, rollout, and iteration on features that help businesses pay, get paid, and stay in control.
• Drive technical decisions in your squad: You'll shape solutions with Product, Design, and Backend by clarifying tradeoffs across UX, performance, security, and time-to-market.
• Raise app reliability and maintainability: You'll improve architecture, performance, and test strategy to scale the app without compromising stability.
• Tackle complex mobile challenges: You'll contribute to real-time synchronization, resilience patterns, and smooth navigation in a modular codebase with ~1,000 modules.
• Grow the team's Android craft: You'll lead code reviews and technical discussions, share patterns, and mentor peers to raise the bar on quality and delivery.

What we're looking for

• Strong Android native experience: You've shipped and maintained production features with Kotlin and are comfortable owning technical decisions end-to-end.
• Quality-driven mindset: You care about testing (unit, UI, snapshot), clean code, and pragmatic standards that keep teams moving fast.
• Problem-solving approach: You thrive in ambiguity and turn complex constraints into simple, robust solutions.
• AI-native workflow: You use AI coding tools daily to amplify your output - not just experiment with them.
• Collaborative by nature: You're fluent in English and contribute through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentorship across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
