Senior Presales Engineer

I am searching for a Senior Presales Engineer for my client, a global telecoms software company focused on delivering cutting‑edge 5G, IMS, and packet core solutions to Tier 1 and Tier 2 operators across EMEA.

This is a client‑facing pre‑sales engineering role, supporting operator engagements and strategic customer propositions in France. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with sales leaders and product teams to lead technical strategy, PoCs, solution design, and commercial support.

You will become the key technical voice in front of major operators and help shape solution strategy within a high‑growth, agile telecoms vendor environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the lead technical solutions expert in France for operator engagements and bids.
  • Support Account Managers across all phases of the pre‑sales process, including RFX responses, PoCs, solution presentations, and bid defence.
  • Lead the technical architecture and design of packet core, IMS, and messaging solutions, working with the wider engineering team and product management.
  • Translate complex technical features into clear, customer‑centric value propositions.
  • Capture customer requirements, shape bespoke solutions, and influence internal product roadmap development.
  • Represent the company in technical workshops and meetings with senior telco stakeholders.
  • Develop high‑quality technical collateral, timelines, and documentation to support commercial bids.

Required Experience & Skills
  • Extensive technical knowledge of 5G Core, IMS (VoLTE / VoNR), EPC, and messaging solutions.
  • Proven experience in a pre‑sales, solutions engineering, or technical strategy / design capacity in the telecoms industry.
  • Working understanding of cloud‑native technologies, Kubernetes, and NFVi (container or VM‑based).
  • Familiarity with 3GPP and xRAN / oRAN standards, and an ability to translate these into real‑world design.
  • Strong understanding of IT / OSS integration needs for telco environments, especially in the context of small cell rollouts.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical topics to senior business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable track record of working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 telco operators in a customer‑facing setting.
  • French‑speaking (native or fluent) and able to communicate effectively in English across regional teams.
Ideal Profile
  • Already based in France with full right to work.
  • Strong knowledge of the telecom core stack, particularly around Core, IMS, and packet core deployments.
