Job summary

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to lead the design of solid-state transformer stages for megawatt-scale data center power delivery, with deep expertise in SiC devices and isolated high-power converters.

You will own the DAB, CLLC, and series-resonant converter stage designs from prototype through deployment, including SiC device selection, qualification, paralleling and thermal derating.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with SiC high-voltage power-electronics.
• Experience scaling power conversion from prototype/bench to deployment.
• Experience documenting design decisions, assumptions, trade-offs, risks and specs.
• Ability to work with adjacent engineering disciplines and own products end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture decisions for DAB, CLLC, and series-resonant converter stages for megawatt deployment.
• Select and qualify high-voltage SiC power devices and manage thermal derating.
• Coordinate interfaces with front end, 800 VDC bus, controls, magnetics and cooling.
• Drive risk reduction via simulation, prototype testing and design reviews.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to patents, and influence technology roadmap decisions.
