Overview
ORECA Motorsport is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer H/F based in Signes, near the Paul Ricard circuit, VAR, FRANCE. Within our design office and assigned to the Director of Engineering, you will manage the design of functional sub-assemblies of a race car as part of projects such as prototypes and GT.
Responsibilities
- Design components and mechanical assemblies related to endurance.
- Find technical solutions for internal customer issues.
- Deliver complete studies of sub-assemblies of a racing car, such as suspensions, chassis, cooling, engine integration, etc., through solid modeling, surface modeling, and 2D drafting, with the goal of achieving high-performance, reliable solutions and optimized sizing. The scope includes suspensions, wheels, hydraulic systems, fuel and cooling systems, and equipment for car homologation and track-side management (e.g., legality checks, pit stop equipment).
- Coordinate with the project manager to consider time/budget constraints and risks, as well as with the supply chain, metrology, assembly, and manufacturing teams.
- Ensure the design of fully integrated systems with the simulation/modeling service based on conceptual ideas evaluated in simulation.
- Oversee the design mock-up activity in the design office.
- Comply with all safety regulations across all venues.
Qualifications
- You have a background in mechanical engineering or technical design education with at least 8 years of experience in motorsport, specifically in developing high-performance components for racing cars.
- Professional experience in designing complex models in CATIA V5.
- Good knowledge of CATIA V5 surface, solid, and drawing modules.
- Proficient in technical English communication; French is a plus.
- Passion for motorsport is a plus.
