Job summary

Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead technical oversight of fabrication for the US ITER project. You will oversee multi-million dollar contracts, coordinate with vendors and ITER partners, and ensure tests meet stringent quality and performance requirements.

Relocation support may be considered for the right candidate. You will work closely with project management to maintain schedule and budget while building a strong team of manufacturing

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years of relevant technical and vendor management experience in manufacturing, assembly and test of integrated systems.
• Experience in oversight of vendors, with previous contract value of at least $10 million.
• Advanced knowledge of precision fabrication.
• Demonstrated communication and negotiation skills in technical and commercial domains.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and review of manufacturing documentation to support procurement and technical specifications.
• Direct technical activities at suppliers for fabrication, assembly and test.
• Oversee supplier non-conformances and corrective actions to maintain schedule and quality.
• Coordinate with PPPL, US ITER and suppliers to resolve technical issues.
• Mentor early and mid-career engineers in manufacturing processes and vendor oversight.
