Jobgether, on behalf of a partner company, seeks a Lead Linux Kernel Engineer based in France to shape architecture and delivery of a large-scale Linux kernel platform. You will lead initiatives across performance, security, packaging, and hardware enablement, guiding engineers and coordinating complex programs in a globally distributed, open-source environment.

Qualifications

• Expertise in operating system kernel development and Linux systems.
• Strong C programming knowledge.
• Unix-like kernel experience; Linux knowledge is highly valuable.
• Proficient in Python and Bash scripting.
• Experience with packaging formats (Ubuntu/Debian/Snap).
• Excellent English communication; ability to travel internationally.

Responsabilités

• Set technical direction and lead a team of engineers working on Linux kernel and distribution.
• Lead architecture, implementation, and delivery across kernel performance, correctness, security, and packaging.
• Drive technical engagements with silicon and cloud partners.
• Mitigate vulnerabilities and drive kernel hardening.
• Architect enhancements for performance and reliability.
• Improve packaging and distribution of complex components.
• Deliver Linux systems at scale with high quality and schedules.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and external teams to coordinate initiatives.
• Coach engineers and guide technical challenges without people management.
• Coordinate adoption of initiatives across teams and partners.
