Job Description

A great new opportunity has arisen to join our European Legal team. We are looking to hire a new colleague as Senior Legal Counsel, working on a wide and diverse client portfolio across Continental Europe, mainly focusing on Belgium, the Netherlands, and France. It is a part-time position (15–25 hours/week) with flexible scheduling, based in any of our offices in Belgium, France, or the Netherlands:

  • Leuven or Ghent;
  • La Garenne-Colombes or Lyon;
  • The Hague.

This role offers exposure to a range of challenging projects and contracts. As a key business partner, you will be involved in bid preparation, contract negotiations, project support, potential claims, and implementing the Group’s internal policies.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various business agreements and legal documents, including client contracts, bid agreements, joint venture agreements, NDAs, and sub-consultancy agreements;
  2. Claims management, internal reporting, and coordination with external counsel;
  3. Company secretarial functions, including convening and administering board and shareholder meetings, ensuring good governance and legal compliance;
  4. Ensuring adherence to the Group's internal policies (Ethics & Compliance, ED&I, ESG, Data Protection).

Qualifications

We seek an aspiring legal counsel proficient in English, French, and ideally Dutch, passionate about building stakeholder relationships and providing commercial, results-oriented legal advice.

The main requirements:

  • Law degree;
  • 5 to 7 years of post-qualification experience preferred, but all suitable candidates will be considered;
  • Proficiency in English and French is essential; Dutch is a plus;
  • Experience in construction, infrastructure, or engineering sectors, preferably within law firms or international companies;
  • Contract review and negotiation experience within relevant sectors;
  • Proficient in MS Office;
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, proactive approach, confident in interacting with senior executives and colleagues at all levels;
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to collaborate across global organizations;
  • Curious and open to innovative working methods for continuous improvement.
