Job summary

Rivercell seeks a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to lead architecture, development, integration, testing, and delivery of its instrument operating platform. You will integrate power sources, microscopes, sensors, cameras and other lab equipment, automating complex cell-biology protocols and ensuring traceable data acquisition.

You will collaborate across disciplines including microfluidics, AI, computer vision, optics, electronics, and biology.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering for production systems.
• Proficient in Python with concurrency, typing and testing.

Responsibilities

• Define instrument-software architecture and device services.
• Write and review production code and set high quality standards.
• Design hardware-abstraction layers and versioned interfaces.
• Design state machines, workflow engines, scheduling, and protocol execution.
• Ensure observability and traceability of device state, commands, and data.
