Voodoo, Paris-based, is hiring a backend engineer to lead the server-side foundation for Castle Busters. You will move game logic from client to server, implementing server-authoritative mechanics and scalable architecture.

You will work closely with client engineers and game designers, delivering robust APIs and reliable state management for a high‑scale multiplayer title. This role requires strong Golang skills and experience in distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend development experience.
• Fluency with Golang and modern backend architectures.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience in high-scale systems and cross-functional teams.

Responsabilités

• Build server-side validation for metagame – currency, card upgrades, chest opens, and progression – staged by risk, replicating economy and reward logic on the server.
• Move toward server authority for competitive features, where game state lives in one place and can be trusted.
• Design APIs and player-state management that the Unity client integrates against, shaping client/server responsibilities.
