AVENTA is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join its civil/structure team in the Paris area. You will deliver geotechnical studies for EPC/FEED projects, design foundations, and coordinate with structural engineers, while preparing calculation notes and client deliverables in both English and French.

The role requires autonomy under discipline management, tight interfaces with multiple disciplines, and a long-term contract with onsite presence in Paris at least three days per week.

Qualifications

• Experience as geotechnical engineer on EPC/FEED projects.
• Fluent English; French reporting experience is a plus.

For one of our clients, a major engineering and EPC contractor in the Oil & Gas / heavy industry sector, we are looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their civil/structure engineering team. The role covers geotechnical studies within PPI and various ongoing projects, working in autonomy under the supervision of a discipline manager and in close interface with other engineering disciplines.

What you will do

• Design and verify shallow and deep foundations (raft foundations, isolated footings, piles) for heavy industrial structures such as tanks, process structures and offshore/onshore modules
• Produce independent geotechnical calculation notes covering settlement, bearing capacity, earth pressure and slope stability
• Review and exploit geotechnical investigation reports (G1 to G4 missions per NF P94-500) to support foundation design
• Interface directly with structural teams to align geotechnical inputs with structural design assumptions
• Draft deliverables and respond to client technical comments in both French and English
• Coordinate with other disciplines (Civil/Structure, Process, Piping) in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced project environment

What you bring

• Experience as a geotechnical engineer in an engineering office, ideally gained on EPC or FEED projects in Oil & Gas, petrochemical or heavy industry
• Strong command of Eurocode 7 (EN 1997-1/2), DTR BC 2.33 (Algeria) and applicable seismic codes (RPA 2024, EC8)
• Hands-on experience with PLAXIS 2D/3D, TALREN, FOXTA and STAAD Foundation Mat3D
• Comfortable producing calculation notes and technical reports independently, with minimal supervision
• Fluent English, written and spoken; French required for reporting and client interface
• Good command of MS Office for day-to-day documentation and reporting
