Luo is building the financial infrastructure to connect Africa to the rest of the world. Our platform helps African businesses make international payments faster than ever. Recently, Luo raised $4 million in seed funding from top investors, including the co-founder of Monzo and leading experts in cross-border payments.

As Luo expands across multiple countries, we are strengthening our financial foundation and looking for a Finance Manager to oversee accounting, reporting, and financial operations across the group. This role is essential to ensure accuracy, control, and scalability as we grow.

Role Overview

The Senior Financial Controller will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial control across the group. This includes accounting, reporting, consolidation, and financial process design across several jurisdictions. You’ll work closely with the founders, operations, and treasury teams to provide financial visibility and help improve our internal controls and reporting frameworks.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both structure and execution — ideal for a finance professional who wants to build the backbone of a fast-scaling fintech.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting and financial reporting across multiple entities and currencies.
• Manage month-end closings and ensure timely and accurate consolidation at group level.
• Coordinate with local accountants, auditors, and financial partners.
• Prepare management reports on cash flow, P&L, and key performance indicators.
• Improve financial systems, processes, and reporting tools as the company scales.
• Support treasury and liquidity management in coordination with the FX and operations teams.
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and internal controls.
• Contribute to financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or Senior Accountant.
• Background in payments, FX, fintech, or other fast-moving international environments is a strong plus.
• Experience in multi-entity, multi-currency accounting and consolidations.
• Strong organisational and analytical skills; able to structure finance from the ground up.
• Deep understanding of accounting standards.
• Chartered Accountant (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) qualification is a plus.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a lean, high-growth setup.
• Fluency in English required; French is a plus.
