Job summary

MSD in Albi, France seeks a Senior Financial Controller to partner with site leadership to drive financial decisions and improve efficiency. You will oversee cost management, standard costing, variance analysis, and operational reporting across the site.

You will lead budgeting cycles, develop KPI dashboards, and work with auditors to ensure robust internal controls and compliance. French and English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or Management Control.
• Minimum 5 years in operational or manufacturing financial controlling within industry.
• Strong costing, accounting, and financial modelling capabilities.
• Experience with ERP and BI tools and robust internal controls.

Responsibilities

Job Description

As a Senior Financial Controller, you will partner directly with operational, supply chain, and site leadership teams to guide financial decision-making, monitor industrial performance, and maintain robust financial controls. You will lead cost management, standard costing, manufacturing variance analysis, and operational reporting to ensure financial transparency and operational efficiency across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Manufacturing Reporting & Variance Analysis: Monitor plant operating results, prepare regular performance reports, analyse industrial variance accounts, and deliver insightful commentary to site leaders and regional finance partners.
• Production Costing & Transfer Pricing: Lead annual standard costing exercises, maintain product cost templates, manage intercompany transfer pricing workflows, and partner closely with the Cost of Sales Integration and master data teams.
• Business Partnering & Performance Dashboards: Design, maintain, and enhance automated key performance indicator (KPI) dashboards; carry out targeted financial studies to uncover cost drivers and support operational continuous improvement.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Coordinate the site budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-term financial planning cycles; present variances and performance drivers clearly to operational teams.
• Internal Controls & Audit Readiness: Uphold robust internal control standards, collaborate with external auditors and tax authorities, support continuous compliance improvements, and actively observe site health and safety standards.

Profile & Experience

Education: Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or Management Control.

Experience: 5 years' experience in operational or manufacturing financial controlling, within an industrial environment.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in manufacturing cost accounting, standard costing, and industrial variance analysis. Demonstrated capability in financial modelling, data reconciliation, and dashboard development using modern enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and business intelligence tools. Comprehensive working knowledge of internal control frameworks and statutory accounting standards.
