Job summary

WSP seeks a Senior Environmental Planner in Boston to lead NEPA projects and develop planning studies for multimodal transportation initiatives. You will prepare technical reports, manage data analyses, and coordinate with municipalities, MPOs, and DOTs.

You will also guide stakeholders, contribute to public outreach, and assist with business development while ensuring QA/QC and regulatory compliance. Exceptional communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
• 5–7 years of experience in environmental planning, surveys, fieldwork, and permitting.
• Experience with NEPA processes, environmental reports, and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as task lead or project manager for NEPA projects (CE, EA, EIS).
• Prepare planning studies, technical reports and NEPA documents.
• Conduct planning studies for multimodal transportation projects for municipalities, counties, MPOs, transit agencies, and DOTs.
• Lead data collection, research, documentation and analyses.
• Assist with public outreach, stakeholder involvement, and business development.
