Job summary

Vibe.co in Paris is seeking a Staff or Senior Data Platform Engineer to own the data infrastructure that powers our real-time spend tracking, batch pipelines, and analytics. You will shape architectures across Kafka, Dagster, ClickHouse Cloud, and Spark, balancing performance with cost at scale.

You will collaborate with data, ML, and product teams, drive CI/CD, establish data contracts, and mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and operating distributed, data-intensive systems in production.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or Rust, with testing and code review discipline.
• Production experience with Kafka, Spark, Iceberg or object storage, ClickHouse or similar analytics.
• Experience owning services from code to production, including AWS, Kubernetes, and IaC.
• Proven track record of improving performance or reducing costs on data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate real-time event processing on Kafka at production scale.
• Build and run batch orchestration pipelines on Dagster.
• Own the serving path into ClickHouse Cloud from ingestion through query.
• Drive end-to-end projects from requirements to post-launch iteration.
• Set architecture decisions on partitioning, materialization, retention, and compute sizing.
• Establish CI/CD and data contracts that reduce manual review overhead.
