Job summary

Mistral in the Paris region is seeking a Senior Data Center Hardware Engineer (L4-L5) to own complex interventions across sites, including multi‑node builds and liquid‑cooled racks for GPU‑dense platforms. You will lead technical bring‑ups, diagnose failures, and mentor engineers without direct reports.

Your expertise will cover compute, storage, interconnect, power and cooling, with a focus on reliability as capacity grows. Occasional site visits required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data center or server hardware and hands-on production experience.
• End-to-end hardware expertise: CPU, memory, PCIe (incl. accelerators), NICs, PSUs, drives, network, power and cooling interfaces.
• Diagnostics depth: confident with BMC/IPMI logs, Linux logs and CLI checks.
• Deployment experience: taken racks from delivery to production.
• Vendor fluency: managed hardware vendors, RMAs, field replacements, escalations.
• Impeccable safety and discipline: ESD/LOTO/PPE; clean, auditable work.
• Communication & mentoring: clear status updates and handovers; capable of coaching during live incidents.
• Mobility: willing to visit other sites in the Paris region.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex interventions across sites, including full rack builds and GPU deployments.
• Own vendor management and escalate repairs with SLAs.
• Diagnose issues using BMC/IPMI, Linux logs, and crash dumps.
• Deploy and validate new racks; coordinate with networking and infra teams.
• Mentor L1–L3 engineers; create SOPs and training materials; build automation.
• Ensure safety with ESD/LOTO/PPE and audit-ready change discipline.
• Plan spares strategy and monitor fleet failure trends.
