Fideres delivers effective economic analysis and testimony, turning data into courtroom advantage. As global litigation experts, we help law firms secure new cases and offer unbiased, conflict-free insights for complex and innovative disputes. Driven by rigorous analysis, we empower justice—for all—from case strategy to victory.

By dedicating ourselves solely to litigation-based economic analysis, we can provide truly unbiased assessments and maintain our commitment to objectivity.

Our Competition litigation consulting team has provided expert opinions on major antitrust legal actions against Big Tech (including Apple, Amazon and Facebook), Big Pharma, Big Finance and Big Agriculture. Meanwhile our original and innovative investigations into river sewage and Covid-19 have led to national press coverage.

Our Financial and Securities Litigation team has acted as plaintiffs' experts in the most consequential financial cartels and market manipulation cases of the past 10 years.

About this Role

We are looking for an experienced Competition Economist, bilingual in French and English, to join our team. This role will manage client relationships and will lead multiple project teams of economic consultants researching corporate and financial wrongdoing to achieve project goals for those clients.

This role can be based in London, Paris or Brussels.

Key Responsibilities

Some notable responsibilities:

  • Overseeing antitrust projects and managing a project team of economic consultants
  • Conducting detailed economic analysis of antitrust allegations as part of the delivery of Fideres’ consulting mandates
  • Writing comprehensive reports that summarize the key findings of our analysis in a simple, succinct manner
  • Proactively managing client relationships
  • Helping to manage the team to ensure innovative ideas are researched and delivered for our project pipeline
  • Presenting and explaining proposals to potential clients
  • Helping to track and allocate resources to achieve business unit goals
  • Coaching the team on Fideres’s processes, writing styles and analytical methodologies
  • Maintain up-to-date records in Fideres’s CRM and Project Management systems

Key Skills and Attributes

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience at a competition agency, in a sector regulator, or in an economic consultancy
  • A PhD in Economics is preferred, ideally from a French University
  • Bilingual French and English
  • Experience of dealing directly with clients (such as law firms and/or regulators)
  • The ability to communicate effectively on complex issues in simple terms
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, proficiency in python or R would be desirable
  • Strong project organization skills, able to meet deadlines
  • A high level of integrity with a creative and curious mind
  • An interest in coaching, developing and collaborating with others
  • An appetite for networking and connecting people and problems
