Overview

Our Orlando, Florida, (FL) office is looking for a Civil Operator or Designer with 8+ years of experience to join our Land Development team!

Responsibilities
  • Implement and manage drafting and plan preparation standards.
  • Develop technical drawings and plans for commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential land development projects, including AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation.
  • Prepare and quality‑check drawings and plans of substantial complexity, performing multifaceted calculations as required.
  • Perform day‑to‑day tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Apply engineering principles and suggest design changes.
  • Maintain the drawing database.
  • Supervise and train CAD staff.
  • Coordinate work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control.
  • Develop familiarity with Kimley‑Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in land development.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree).
  • Ability to set up and manage printing/plotting settings.
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products.
  • Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills, and a desire to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to mentor and teach others.
  • Detail‑oriented, professional, excellent communication, team player, self‑starter.
