Overview
Our Orlando, Florida, (FL) office is looking for a Civil Operator or Designer with 8+ years of experience to join our Land Development team!
Responsibilities
- Implement and manage drafting and plan preparation standards.
- Develop technical drawings and plans for commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential land development projects, including AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation.
- Prepare and quality‑check drawings and plans of substantial complexity, performing multifaceted calculations as required.
- Perform day‑to‑day tasks with minimal supervision.
- Apply engineering principles and suggest design changes.
- Maintain the drawing database.
- Supervise and train CAD staff.
- Coordinate work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control.
- Develop familiarity with Kimley‑Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant experience in land development.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree).
- Ability to set up and manage printing/plotting settings.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products.
- Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills, and a desire to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to mentor and teach others.
- Detail‑oriented, professional, excellent communication, team player, self‑starter.
