Job summary

Hexcel seeks a Project Manager to lead major capital projects in France (Dagneux) or near Chambéry (Les Avenières). You will drive the full lifecycle from concept to hand-off, manage budgets up to $50M, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and ensure safety, quality, and on-budget delivery.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in project engineering within industrial manufacturing, strong communication skills, and fluency in English. Travel up to 30% is expected.

Qualifications

• University or Engineer degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
• Experience leading project engineering teams in continuous, high-paced environments.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing facilities; reading mechanical design drawings.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, electrical, civil, mechanical, and chemical disciplines.
• Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and perform safety analyses (HAZOP/FEMA).
• Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in English is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital projects (up to $50M); scope, estimate, and lead multi-functional teams.
• Coordinate with site personnel to minimize operations impact.
• Present project status to management and stakeholders.
• Develop RFQs for scoping or estimating capital investments; coordinate with vendors/contractors to optimize performance.
• Oversee procurement for capex projects and interface with suppliers.
• Develop technical specifications with site teams to meet local specs and availability.
• Oversee engineering drawings including PFDs, P&IDs, and detailed designs.
• Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications.
• Provide commissioning and startup oversight for new or modified equipment.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
