bsport in Paris is seeking an experienced engineer to join our Core team. In this role, you will lead the design of event-driven architectures, write maintainable code, and provide technical leadership while collaborating with Data, Product, and DevOps teams.

About the role

Joining our Core team means playing a crucial role in shaping the success of our engineering department by providing core data and capabilities to the different teams.

Focus areas include:

• Administrating and providing core data models to the different bsport teams (client, studio, locations, franchise, namespaces overall)
• Develop the building blocks of our AI semantic layer, to power every other team AI-native features
• Provide and maintain core capabilities to other bsport teams like Authentication, our Permission system or a way for large franchise to administrate their studios.
• Manage our Buyables offering by managing our subscription, webshop & retails, VOD and pass architecture.

What will be your impact

• Lead the design of services and event-driven architectures that handle high-volume data and ensure a balance between immediate product requirements, technical feasibility, and long-term scalability.
• Write robust, efficient, and maintainable code and implement best practices for code reviews, testing, and continuous integration & delivery.
• Provide technical leadership and share knowledge with less experienced engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation.
• Work closely with Data, Product, and DevOps teams to deploy and maintain cutting-edge solutions and align technical strategy with business goals, ensuring each release adds measurable value.
• Continuously monitor and improve the performance of backend services using Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, and Sentry.
• Participate in our cross-team Backend & DevOps squad, providing innovative solutions and improvements to our stack (Grafana, Kibana, PostgreSQL, AWS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Django, Django Rest Framework), advocating for best practices in observability, monitoring, and alerting to ensure systems run at peak efficiency.

• You have substantial experience in Python (Django is a plus)
• You are comfortable challenging a implementation from the data model diagrams to the networking
• You have experience working at scale, serving dozens of millions of users
• You are, of course, professionally proficient in English
• You are not afraid of taking ownership to build exceptional products, including on design and product decision.
• You love domain-driven development, and understand interface purity has its limit.
• You want to lead across boundaries, and scale your impact to the organisation
• You understand both how powerful and how dangerous AI-assisted workflows can be, and want to redefine the barriers of what is doable
