BAO in Paris is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join an engineering-driven, international team and build the foundations of our AI infrastructure.

You will design scalable distributed systems, work on AI agent orchestration, and own end-to-end technical decisions with high autonomy and high standards.

This role offers opportunities to impact product direction and tackle genuinely challenging problems with equity and a highly competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong backend and distributed systems expertise.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js; knowledge of Go, Rust, or C++ is a plus.
• Experience building scalable, distributed infrastructures.
• Interest in AI infrastructure and agentic systems.
• Ability to own complex technical challenges end-to-end.

Software Engineer — AI / Distributed Systems

I’m recruiting for a fast-growing tech startup building the next generation of AI infrastructure.

The team is tackling highly ambitious technical challenges around distributed systems, agent orchestration, AI infrastructure, reliability, and scaling.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a highly technical international team and contribute directly to the foundations of the product.

The role

You’ll work on:

• Designing and building highly scalable distributed systems
• AI agent orchestration and execution
• Building infrastructure capable of handling high volumes and complex workloads
• Performance, reliability, observability, and architecture
• Making key technical decisions with a high level of ownership

The environment is very engineering-driven: flat hierarchy, a lot of autonomy, and high standards for technical quality.

The profile

We’re looking for someone with:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong experience in backend / distributed systems
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript / Node.js; experience with Go, Rust, or C++ is also relevant
• Experience building scalable and/or highly distributed systems
• A strong interest in AI and agentic systems
• The ability to own complex technical challenges end-to-end

Experience with AI infrastructure, LLMs, agentic systems, distributed computing, or developer infrastructure is a strong plus.

The compensation reflects the level of the role, with a highly competitive base salary and equity (100k - 200k)
