Mistral is seeking a founding engineer for the Applied AI SRE sub-team. You will design and operate the framework that makes Mistral’s solution delivery reliable and scalable across hosted and customer-hosted deployments, bridging cutting‑edge AI research with real‑world enterprise use.

Requirements include 5+ years in SRE/Production Engineering or DevOps, strong Kubernetes fluency, on‑call discipline, observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Loki, Tempo, Signoz),

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SRE, Production Engineering, or DevOps with a track record of tooling delivery.
• Strong multi-tenant Kubernetes fluency, namespace segmentation, network policy, RBAC, admission control, operations at scale.
• On-call discipline: incident response, blameless post-mortems, runbook-first mindset.
• Observability stack in production: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Loki, Tempo, Signoz.
• Infrastructure as code: Terraform, Ansible (or close equivalents).
• Proficient in Python and/or Golang for tooling and automation.
• Security mindset: treat secure-SDLC, CVE response, and supply-chain integrity as reliability properties.
• Strong written communication for runbooks, post-mortems, and customer-facing incident comms.
• Comfortable operating with high autonomy in a fast-paced environment, defending team scope.
• Solid Linux internals, networking, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
• Experience operating LLM/model-serving stacks in production (nice-to-have).
• Experience with multi-cloud or on-prem hybrid environments (AWS, GCP, Azure, sovereign clouds).
• Open-source contributions in SRE, observability, or security tooling (nice-to-have).

Responsabilités

• Build and operate the framework to ensure reliable, scalable delivery across hosted and customer-hosted deployments.
• Run Tier-1 customer environments and ensure SLO compliance, on-call handling, and incident response.
• Productize deployment, security baselines, and automation to enable scalable enablement of AI solutions.
• Lead security operations: CVE response, SBOM, signed images, provenance, and secure-config baselines.
• Collaborate across teams to ship reliable, observable infrastructure and runbooks.
