Job summary

Alignerr is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and scale AI infrastructure in a fully remote, flexible contract role. You will work on production-grade systems, APIs, and data pipelines for AI training, evaluation, and deployment at scale.

You should bring 5+ years of software engineering experience, expertise in Python/TS/JS/Go/Java, and strong cloud and distributed systems skills. Autonomy and async collaboration are key in this role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, TS/JS, Go, Java).
• Experience building backend services, APIs, or data-intensive applications.
• Comfortable with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerized environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production-grade software systems for AI training, evaluation, and deployment pipelines.
• Write clean, well-tested, and performant code in Python, TypeScript, or other modern languages.
• Build and optimize APIs, data pipelines, and backend services at scale.
• Architect solutions balancing speed and long-term maintainability.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate asynchronously with ML engineers, researchers, and product managers.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Work independently on well-scoped projects with ownership and autonomy.
