Jobtailor in Strasbourg is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build and maintain AI platform infrastructure. You will advance the Core AI layer, orchestrate AI workflows, and ensure secure, scalable systems supporting LLMs and RAG.

You will work with NestJS/React stacks, AWS, PostgreSQL, and CI/CD practices, collaborating across teams to deliver robust data pipelines, APIs, and production-grade services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend experience with Node.js/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML integration, including LLMs and RAG.
• Strong understanding of scalable backend architecture and security best practices.
• Experience with databases, authentication, and AWS cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git workflows, and agile methodologies.
• Bonus: familiarity with Python, Go, or other backend languages applied to AI.
• Strong technical communication and agile mindset.
• Technical English required.

Responsabilités

• Build and maintain the core infrastructure that makes the AI platform fast, reliable, and scalable.
• Develop the foundational Core AI layer covering orchestration, memory, low-level security, and system harness.
• Coordinate AI workflows, model calls, multi-step reasoning, and multi-agent delegation.
• Build RAG pipelines and knowledge bases.
• Integrate and tune new LLMs into a production-grade backend.
• Implement security, guardrails, and LLM evaluation for latency and response quality.
• Build robust data ingestion and export pipelines and services for varied file formats.
• Design context-window and token-optimization strategies to improve LLM efficiency and control costs.
• Design scalable APIs and automate deployment pipelines.
• Monitor and test the platform to maintain reliability and performance.
• Participate in technology-stack decisions.
• Document technical knowledge and drive innovation across the AI platform.
