Deel seeks a Senior Backend Engineer/Tech Lead to own the Growth engine's technical vision and lead a team of 6–8 engineers across AI development, backend, data engineering and data science. You will design, review, and ship AI-powered features using Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL, driving architecture and standards while delivering production code with impact on a global platform.

This role rewards hands-on leadership, strong communication, and a track record of delivering scalable systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience on scalable systems.
• 2+ years leading or mentoring engineers as a tech lead or manager.
• Background in data, AI engineering, or analytics.

Responsabilités

• Partner with Product and cross‑functional teams to scope and ship features end to end.
• Drive technical decisions, architecture, and coding standards.
• Support the tech lead on architecture, code reviews, and design feedback.
• Design and deploy AI agents at scale to accelerate yield across the platform.
• Review all AI-generated code critically before production.
