European Tech Recruit is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to help build the core platform from the ground up. You will design data models and context graphs, develop LLM-powered agents, and implement robust data pipelines to enable AI reasoning over complex information.

This hands-on role offers ownership of architecture and product development, with collaboration across backend, frontend and cloud infrastructure, and close work with the CTO to shape engineering practices.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science is required.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong full-stack software engineering background.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, or AI agents.

A venture-backed technology start-up is developing AI-powered software to help industrial businesses improve how operational information is organised, accessed and used. Its technology combines applied AI, data engineering and intelligent automation to address complex business challenges, with a focus on building scalable software that can support better decision-making and operational efficiency.

As a Senior AI Engineer, you'll work to build the core platform from the ground up. You'll design data models and context graphs, develop LLM-powered agents, build data ingestion pipelines and implement retrieval systems that enable AI to reason over complex information. This is a hands-on role with significant ownership over architecture, technical decisions and product development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design data models and context graphs connecting factory processes, products and machinery.
• Develop AI agents and LLM-powered applications using industrial knowledge.
• Build pipelines to transform videos, documents and machine data into structured information.
• Develop RAG and retrieval systems to support AI applications.
• Build and maintain production software across backend, frontend and cloud infrastructure.
• Work directly with the CTO to shape architecture and engineering practices.
• MSc or PhD in Computer Science
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong full-stack software engineering experience.
• Strong data modelling and systems design skills.
• Hands-on experience building production applications using LLMs, RAG or AI agents.
• Proven experience shipping and maintaining production software.
• Strong Python programming skills and the ability to take ownership of technical decisions.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and excellent English communication skills.
• Knowledge graphs, context graphs or complex data architectures.
• AI agent frameworks and LLM orchestration.
• Python, FastAPI, TypeScript, React, Next.js and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience in early-stage startups or building AI products from scratch.
