Job summary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Île-de-France, Paris area, seeks a dedicated security professional to protect church property, render first aid when needed, and provide security-related assistance to staff and visitors. The role requires French fluency, basic English, tact, and at least one year of security experience.

Qualifications

• Advanced reading, writing and communications in French.

• Requires tact and judgment in exercising duties.
• Minimum of 1 year security, law enforcement or military experience.
• Completed prescribed security training and certifications (SSIAP 1, CQP, SST, carte professionnelle).
• No prior police record or affiliation with anti-government or anti-Church groups.
• Ability to lead others and communicate direction clearly.

Responsibilities

• Makes required number of reviews of buildings and grounds during assigned shift.
• Inspects doors, windows and gates to ensure security and reports issues.
• Assists those needing information, directions, or help with problems.
• Works any shift day and night, as needed.
• Available on twenty-four hour basis for emergencies.
• Registers at security checkpoints as required.
• Makes personal contact with troublemakers and contacts police as needed.
• Makes searches during bomb calls or other threats.
• Provides first aid to persons on Church property and contacts ambulance services in emergencies.
• Watches for hazards and security risks and reports them.
• Takes part in security training to develop capacity and awareness.
• Makes written reports and notes any unusual events.
• Summons help as needed.

Provides security coverage for the protection of Church property from fire, theft, vandalism, trespassing, and illegal entry; renders appropriate first aid response in medical situations occurring on Church property; renders security-related assistance to employees, visitors, tourists; makes on-the-spot decisions for necessary response.

Responsibilities

• Makes required number of reviews of buildings and grounds during assigned shift.
• Examines doors, windows, and gates to assure they are secure. Inspects for potential sources of improper entry to the buildings and reports them to the security supervisor for correction.
• Assists those in need of information, directions, or with other problems.
• Works any shift day and night, as needed.
• Available on twenty-four hour basis as needed for emergencies.
• Registers at security checkpoints as required.
• Makes personal contact with persons causing trouble and/or contacts the appropriate police agency.
• Makes searches of buildings on bomb calls or other threats.
• Renders appropriate first aid assistance to all persons on Church property when needed. Contacts ambulance and paramedic services in emergency situations.
• Watches for and reports security and safety hazards, such as unauthorized persons, suspicious circumstances, fire, physical, and mechanical hazards.
• Takes part in security training to develop his/her job capacity, skills, and security awareness.
• Makes all necessary written reports related to assignments and keeps a record noting any unusual events.
• Summons help as needed.

Qualifications

• Advanced reading, writing and communications skills in French is required. Basic English is a plus.
• Requires tact and judgment in exercising duties.
• Typically requires a minimum of 1 year security, law enforcement or military experience.
• Successful completion of prescribed security training and certification of Diplôme SSIAP 1, Certificat de qualification Professionnelle, le SST ainsi que la carte professionnelle à jour.
• Has no prior police record, or affiliation with anti-government or anti-Church groups.
• Ability to lead others, communicating direction clearly.
