DSR Global is seeking a Lead SAP SD Consultant for a short-term freelance engagement focused on optimising global order fulfilment processes, particularly around Backorder Processing (BOP) and inventory allocation. You will lead the analysis, define strategies, and improve operational efficiency.

The role is remote with potential onsite presence in Lyon for initial onboarding. Strong expertise in SAP aATP and BOP is essential. English is mandatory, while French is highly beneficial.

We are currently supporting a global end client in their search for a Lead SAP SD Consultant with deep expertise in Advanced Available-to-Promise (aATP) and Backorder Processing (BOP).

This is a short-term freelance engagement focused on reviewing, optimising, and governing global order fulfilment processes, with a particular emphasis on BOP fallback/backstop strategies and inventory allocation controls.

Start Date: October 2026

Duration: 3 weeks

Location: Remote with possible onsite for the first 1 or 2 days in Lyon, France

Language Requirements: English is mandatory and French is highly beneficial

Engagement Type: Freelance / Contract

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis, optimisation, and governance of global SAP SD order fulfilment processes.
• Define and enhance SAP aATP strategies, with particular focus on Backorder Processing (BOP), fallback logic, and backstop strategies.
• Assess and improve inventory allocation rules to maximise order fulfilment efficiency while minimising supply chain disruption.
• Provide expert guidance on change control processes to ensure system stability, data integrity, and controlled deployment of fulfilment-related changes.
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to align fulfilment strategies with operational objectives and best practices.

Required Experience

• Proven experience as a Senior or Lead SAP SD Consultant.
• Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA aATP and Backorder Processing (BOP).
• Demonstrable experience designing and implementing BOP fallback/backstop strategies.
• Deep understanding of order fulfilment, inventory allocation, ATP checking, and supply chain processes.
• Experience establishing governance and change control frameworks within SAP environments.
