Job summary

SBM Offshore in Marly, France, is seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer for Operations to provide expert mechanical maintenance support to the offshore team and related departments. You will drive continuous improvement, manage parts and tools inventories, support safety and regulatory compliance, and contribute to problem solving with SAP/EAM systems and RCA techniques.

Key competencies include failure analysis, reliability engineering, and strong collaboration with maintenance and supply chain

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering degree required.
• Vibration analysis certification preferred.
• CREA active registration as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the operating unit by developing actionable maintenance plans.
• Offer recommendations to enhance operability, protect equipment, and optimize performance.
• Raise Technical Notes and Guidelines as a recognized Technical Expert.
• Support audits and regulatory compliance across internal and client bodies.
• Drive inventory of parts and tools to ensure availability.
• Assist in Start-Up and Shut-Down procedures for safe operations.
• Support Root Cause Analyses and action plans.

Purpose

• You are responsible for providing technical expertise to the offshore team and to the other relevant departments. You will play a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, aligning them with the organization's strategic objectives, and ensuring the effective management of technical resources and processes.
• You ensure the smooth execution of maintenance and repair scope by providing techinal support to the maintenance team in defining the scope and parts and tools requirements.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible to provide technical support to the operating unit by developing actionable plans and assist in management decisions .
• You offer technical recommendations to enhance operability, increase business revenue, protect equipment, and optimize control device performance while identifying and mitigating technical risks.
• You raise Technical Notes and Guidelines as a recognized Technical Expert.
• You support regulatory agency audits, internal audits, and client audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• You contribute to Strategy and Governance by implementing best practices and following up on Class issues, regulatory requirements, and GTS.
• You drive the inventory of parts and tools, ensuring availability when needed.
• You support in the elaboration of Technical Risk Assessments (TRA) and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for processes and systems.
• You assist in Start-Up and Shut-Down procedures, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
• You support Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and propose actionable plans to address identified issues.
• You manage the results of Predictive Maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
• You support the Supply Chain in evaluating technical proposals for services and materials that differ from like-for-like or have technical deviations.

Education

• Mechanical Engineering graduation;
• Vibration analysis certification is desired.
• CREA active (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Arquitetura
• (Architecture and Civil Engineering Regional Council)

Experience

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience with failure analysis and root cause investigation techniques.
• Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise asset management systems.
• Good familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Experience working in a Shorebase environment.
