Job summary

Huawei Technologies France SASU seeks an Optical Device Researcher to advance large-scale network AI models and optimization. You will join the Network Modeling and Optimizing team to tackle AI-driven network challenges, leveraging synthetic and real data across global telecom scenarios.

As part of a global team, you will design theories and technologies for accurate modelling, publish results, and contribute to cutting-edge solutions for Huawei’s telecom products and services in the Paris area.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science/Engineering, Operations Research, or related fields.
• Experience designing and developing data-driven AI models for large-scale systems.
• Experience with GenAI models and/or reinforcement learning.
• Publications in top AI conferences and/or IEEE Transactions are a plus.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Solve complex mathematical problems from real-world networks using AI, OR, data science, and applied math.
• Publish and contribute to Huawei’s innovation through conferences, journals, and collaborations.

Researcher in Large-Scale Network AI Model and Optimization

to join the Network Modeling and Optimizing research team. As a researcher, you will apply your expertise to tackle technical challenges and build theories and technologies for accurate modelling and optimal control of large-scale telecommunications networks.

Thanks to the collaboration with leading network operators and the support of thousands of Huawei experts, our organization has amassed a vast amount of (synthetic and real) data from different scenarios of cellular networks worldwide. Leveraging this data and our expertise to construct network-level AI models (foundational models, LLMs) for precise modeling and optimization of mobile networks presents an exciting challenge at the forefront of applied AI.

You will be part of a global team and collaborate closely with experienced engineers and skilled researchers, to define, design, and drive a roadmap for pushing the limit of AI and telecom networks. Additionally, you will participate in integrating cutting-edge technologies into Huawei’s business solutions and products, applying your achievements globally to enhance people's communication and quality of life.

What are your main responsibilities?

• Solve intricate mathematical problems stemming from real-world networks based on AI technology, operations research, data science, and applied mathematics.
• Uphold Huawei’s leadership in innovation and technical advancement through various avenues, including publications in top conferences and journals, bolstering intellectual property portfolios, and fostering collaboration with academia and partners.
• Introduce advanced AI technologies and propose a feasible technical direction or architecture for constructing network AI models based on vast data.
• Contribute to business success by crafting data-driven AI solutions for network modeling and optimization.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science/Engineering, Operations Research, or related fields.
• Proficiency in algorithm design and development for data-driven AI models in large-scale systems.
• Experience with GenAI models and or RL.
• Experience with Pytorch and popular ML libraries
• Background in wireless network communication research is a plus.
• Proven successful track of publications in top AI conferences and/or IEEE Transactions.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
