Job summary

Datadog, Inc. is seeking a Research Manager within the DAIR group to lead a team pursuing foundational research in large-scale models.

You will guide strategy, mentor researchers, and maintain hands-on research while shaping technical direction and contributing to product-focused outcomes. You will oversee pre-training and multimodal learning across telemetry signals and collaborate with product teams to translate discoveries into Datadog capabilities.

Qualifications

PhD in Computer Science, ML, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Deep expertise in foundation models, world models, multimodal learning, or generative modeling.
Proven ability to lead technically ambitious research at meaningful scale.

Responsibilities

Lead research in foundation models, world models, and multimodal learning, setting technical direction for ambitious programs.
Mentor researchers and research engineers, steer research strategy and experiments.
Train large-scale multimodal models on diverse telemetry data from distributed systems.
Collaborate with product and engineering to translate research into scalable Datadog capabilities.
Contribute to publications and present at top-tier conferences.
