Job summary

ThrustMe is seeking a Research Engineer (M/F) to design and run tests for propulsion system hardware in vacuum, and to qualify space hardware. This role sits in the Innovation Team, where you will tackle open-ended problems, build and test ideas, and use results to improve designs.

You will design and run tests to evaluate propulsion system performance and reliability under launch and space operation conditions, with measurements guiding design improvements and compliance demonstration.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in aerospace engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of research experience in industry or academia.
• Experience with vacuum technology and testing complex equipment under vacuum.
• Ability to read electronic schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Practical skills in mechanical assembly, repair and debugging.
• Practical skills in instrumentation, measurement automation and data analysis.
• Proven ability to solve unfamiliar engineering problems independently.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and document development and qualification tests from system requirements.
• Develop test setups, select instrumentation and automate measurements.
• Prepare prototypes for testing and troubleshoot hardware with design engineers.
• Analyze test data and report results against requirements.
• Maintain vacuum facilities and test equipment, ensuring calibration.
• Collaborate with Product Team to transfer validated test methods into production.
