A global research organization is seeking an experienced Research Assistant in Nutrition to support the implementation of sweetpotato value chain development in Madagascar. The successful candidate will deliver nutrition interventions, develop training materials, and conduct food safety analysis. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and proficiency in French is required. This position offers a fixed-term contract with a competitive compensation package.
The InternationalPotato Center (CIP) is seeking to recruit one (1) dynamic and experienced ResearchAssistant, Nutritionist to provide support in the implementation of the “Integrationof Orange-fleshed Sweetpotato (OFSP) Value Chain Development” into MIONJOproject in Madagascar.
The Position: The selectedcandidate will be based in Toliara, he/she will report to the Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
· Strengthen nutritionintervention delivery and mainstream sweetpotato nutritional value acrosssectors (health, agriculture, education, etc.).
· Develop trainingmaterials on OFSP processing, focusing on micronutrient retention.
· Support small andmedium processing enterprises in implementing good hygiene practices.
· Train enterprises onOFSP processing equipment use.
· Assist with designingand setting up processing equipment and quality control systems.
· Conduct and documentexperiments for internal discussions and studies.
· Lead nutritionawareness campaigns with national/regional offices and NGOs.
· Provide technicalsupport for food availability, acceptability, and consumption studies.
· Contribute toadvocacy materials, food guides, and media strategies on health benefits.
· Supportadministrative operations for effective supply chain management.
· Conduct first-levelanalysis of nutrition-related data.
· Develop newstrategies and protocols for project activities
· Performother duties as assigned, considering risk management in tasks.
· Bachelor’s in degree Nutrition,Food Science, Biology, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
· Minimum 3 years of relevantexperience, including in emergency interventions and challenging conditions.
· Advanced MS Office skills:statistical analysis and database management preferred.
· Proficiency in Frenchand Malagasy; working knowledge of English.
· Experience in foodtechnology, quality management, and product formulation.
· Strong analytical,interpersonal, and cross-cultural communication skills.
· Knowledge of legalregulations on nutrition and food safety.
· Proven ability tobuild relationships with diverse stakeholders and manage multiple tasks undertight deadlines.
