Renewable Energy Manager – AES. This role has full P&L responsibility for AES Indiana’s owned and/or operated solar, wind, and battery energy storage facilities. It involves leading operations and maintenance teams, administering contracts, coordinating with internal and external customers, and evaluating financial performance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the operations and maintenance teams.
  • Administer applicable contracts and enforce contractual requirements, warranties, and performance standards.
  • Coordinate and communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Evaluate and control the financial performance of the facilities.
  • Supervise personnel, maintain a positive workplace culture and safety.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on status, productivity, and overall performance.
  • Identify potential performance gains and direct actions to achieve optimum performance.
  • Analyze financial records, develop an annual budget, and ensure compliance with the company’s approved budget.
  • Report operating and financial data to executive management, customers, or contractual obligations.
  • Develop and improve financial and operating reporting systems.
  • Engage and manage contractors to operate and maintain the facilities efficiently.
Technical Qualifications
  • Financial background analyzing financial statements and contracts.
  • Understanding of technical issues related to wind projects and ability to make O&M decisions.
  • Ability to integrate decisions into contract administration and interact with counterparties.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and ability to formulate effective reports.

  • Effective communication with a broad spectrum of stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and time‑management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and business‑management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate information from multiple sources.
  • High proficiency in reading, writing, interpreting, and analyzing business correspondence, contracts, financial and statistical data, and technical procedures.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions appropriately.
Education and Experience

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in management, preferably in the electrical utilities area, or 5 years of management experience with a degree in engineering or management with related experience. A BS in Engineering with coursework in finance, strategic management, and people management is desirable.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Duties include frequent standing, walking, sitting, handling, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds and be capable of climbing wind turbines. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and moderate to loud noise is expected.
