Qualifications

• Active NC medical license required.
• Inpatient psychiatry experience; trauma experience preferred.
• Board Certification or Eligibility in Psychiatry (within 1 year of residency).
• Valid and unrestricted DEA registration.
• Proficient using Telemedicine technologies for remote care.
• Open to PMHNP collaboration (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations in ED and acute care settings.
• Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications; adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Create individualized treatment plans including medication management and psychotherapy.
• Maintain up-to-date medical records in compliance with policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with psychologists, nurses, and staff for integrated care.
• Provide crisis care in instances such as suicide attempts or acute episodes.
• Ensure confidentiality and complete documentation of all services.
• Comply with applicable regulations, laws, rules, and contract requirements.
