Hugging Face in Paris and beyond is seeking an Open-Source Machine Learning Engineer to help grow and improve the open-source ML ecosystem. You will work on core libraries like Transformers, Datasets, PyTorch, and vLLM, and engage with a global community of contributors.

You will collaborate with researchers, ML practitioners, and data scientists through GitHub, forums, and Slack, shaping open-source tooling and documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong Python skills and well-tested library code.
• Hands-on experience with PyTorch; knowledge of JAX or TensorFlow is a plus.
• Public track record of open-source contributions (GitHub) for review.
• Solid understanding of modern ML and deep learning, including transformer architectures.
• Experience collaborating with a technical community in the open.
• Fluent English for asynchronous collaboration.

Responsabilités

• Improve the open-source ML ecosystem and work on core libraries like Transformers, Datasets, PyTorch, and vLLM.
• Interact with users and contributors across GitHub, forums, and Slack.
• Collaborate with researchers, ML practitioners, and data scientists daily to shape tooling and documentation.
