Mistral AI is seeking an Open Source Software engineer to lead the release and maintenance of state-of-the-art models as open-source libraries. You will work across production and research, contributing to widely used ML libraries and tooling for a vibrant OSS ecosystem.

The role fosters collaboration with PyTorch, vLLM, and Hugging Face communities, requiring deep ML knowledge, Python expertise, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, ML or Data Science.
• Experience contributing to popular open-source libraries.
• Expert programming in Python and PyTorch.
• Strong MLOps and production-ready tooling.
• Autonomous, proactive and detail-oriented.
• Deep understanding of ML, especially LLMs.

Responsabilités

• Release models to open-source platforms and libraries.
• Maintain open-source libraries like mistral-common and mistral-inference.
• Create and maintain internal and external tooling.
• Implement and optimize libraries for performance and accuracy.
• Collaborate with PyTorch, vLLM and Hugging Face communities.
