Job summary

Jobgether, partnering with a client, is seeking a Java Developer Associate based in France. You will contribute to desktop and web app development using Core Java, JSP, Servlets, and Spring/Hibernate. The role emphasises remote collaboration, MVC design, API integration, and a chance to work across Windows, macOS and Linux environments.

The position is initially part-time (approx. 20 hours/week) with flexibility for weekend scheduling and morning ET shifts.

Qualifications

• At least 2.5 years of professional Java development experience.
• Hands-on with JSP and Servlets for web apps.
• Experience with MVC and at least one Java framework (Spring/Spring Boot/Hibernate/Struts).
• Desktop and web application development across Windows, macOS, Linux.
• RESTful services and API integration.
• Foundational JavaScript and CSS knowledge.
• Familiarity with IDEs (IntelliJ IDEA preferred).
• Git usage and basic CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes knowledge is a plus.
• Remote teamwork, strong communication, and reliability.
• Availability around 20 hours/week with morning ET preference.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance desktop and web apps using Core Java.
• Build web UI components with JSP/Servlets within MVC structure.
• Utilize Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, or Struts frameworks.
• Develop across Windows, macOS, Linux environments.
• Integrate RESTful services and external APIs.
• Apply JavaScript/CSS to improve UI/UX.
• Work in IDEs like IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse or NetBeans.
• Collaborate with seniors, follow guidelines, ensure quality.
• Support testing, debugging, and code reviews.
• Adhere to project schedules and professional standards.
