Description du poste

Our client is a prestigious Swiss-based academic institution with global reach, recognised worldwide for its excellence in management education, executive development, and applied research. With a deeply international faculty and alumni network, the institution operates across multiple continents and is committed to driving impact through education and innovation.

As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a talented and committed Legal Counsel to join their in-house legal team on a full-time, permanent, remote basis.

Role overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious legal professional to contribute to a dynamic and multicultural institution with significant international exposure. Reporting directly to the General Counsel based in Switzerland, the Legal Counsel will play a key role in supporting the institution across a broad spectrum of legal and compliance matters.

The successful candidate will ideally be based in Europe (France, Spain, Portugal, Poland, or a similar location) and will work fully remotely.

Key responsibilities

Legal Advisory & Contract Management

  • Report to the General Counsel and collaborate closely with the legal team on a wide range of legal
  • and compliance matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements including sales and purchase contracts,
  • research collaboration agreements, sponsorship and donor agreements, and consultancy and
  • speaker contracts.
  • Prepare clear and concise legal memoranda, guidelines, and internal policies.
  • Support the institution and the legal team on any legal matter arising across the organisation.

Legal Templates & Process Improvement

  • Lead the design and rollout of the institution's legal templates, in alignment with institutional policies.
  • Streamline legal processes, with a particular focus on supplier onboarding.
  • Maintain accurate and structured legal filing systems to ensure precision and accessibility.

Training & Compliance

  • Develop, update, and deliver legal and compliance training sessions for staff and faculty.
  • Support the institution's data protection compliance efforts, drawing on a solid understanding of the evolving global regulatory landscape.

Candidate Profile

Education & Background

  • Bachelor's and Master's degree in Law (Continental European system).
  • European bar admission is a plus.

Experience & Skills

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including significant commercial exposure; in-house
  • experience is preferred, though applications from law firm backgrounds are equally welcome.
  • Experience in procurement and contract management is a distinct advantage.
  • Solid grounding in data protection law and familiarity with the evolving global regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work remotely and thrive within international, multicultural environments.

Personal Attributes

  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with the ability to balance legal risk against business
  • objectives in a fast-paced and often asymmetrical context.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and pragmatic, able to translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Capable of working independently with a high degree of autonomy, while also being a collaborative and trusted team player within a small legal team.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and written skills.
  • Resilient, approachable, and positive, with a genuine "can-do" attitude.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required; additional languages are a strong asset.
