nLighten is seeking a Regional Data Center Manager to oversee multiple data centers in the Paris region. You will ensure operational excellence, SLAs, and regulatory compliance while leading on-site teams and coordinating with vendors.

The role requires 5+ years in data center operations with 3+ years in leadership, a strong grasp of power/cooling/BMS, and fluency in French. Join a high-growth edge data center platform and drive efficiency across facilities.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 5+ years in data center or critical facility operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of critical systems: power, cooling, fire suppression, and BMS.
  • Proven experience with vendor management, budgeting, cost management, and process improvement.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • French fluency is required; additional European languages are a plus.
  • Be able to manage and promote internal training and generate interest among operational teams.

Responsabilités

  • Oversee daily operations of multiple data centers, ensuring availability, reliability, and compliance with SLAs.
  • Implement and monitor operational processes and procedures for consistency across facilities.
  • Manage risks and develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions.
  • Lead on-site teams, providing direction, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Ensure physical infrastructure (power, cooling, security) meets standards.
  • Coordinate and supervise vendor and contractor activities for maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Control budgets, optimize costs, and monitor KPIs for efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of KPIs, capacity, and operational data.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards in partnership with group compliance leads.
  • Act as the primary regional contact for customers, internal stakeholders, and central operations team.
  • Primary contact for compliance and incident management; first point of contact with construction.

We are looking for a highly organized and strategic Regional Data Center Manager to oversee the efficient and reliable operations of data centers within an assigned region of France. This role ensures optimal performance, adherence to operational standards, and alignment with the organization’s strategic goals, contributing to the overall success of our data center operations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and a proven ability to manage multiple facilities effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of multiple data centers, ensuring availability, reliability, and compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Implement and monitor operational processes and procedures for consistency across all facilities.
  • Manage risks and develop contingency plans to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Lead and support on-site teams, providing direction, training, and performance evaluation to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Ensure physical infrastructure, including power, cooling, and security systems, are maintained to meet operational standards.
  • Coordinate and supervise vendor and contractor activities for maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Control operational budgets, optimize costs, and monitor performance indicators for efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of KPIs, capacity, and operational data.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards for all data center operations in partnership with group compliance leads.
  • Act as the primary regional contact for customers, internal stakeholders, and the central operations team.
  • Primary contact for compliance and incident management. First point of contact with construction
What We’re Looking For
  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent technical background).
  • 5+ years of experience in data center or critical facility operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of critical systems: power, cooling, fire suppression, and BMS.
  • Proven experience with vendor management, budgeting, cost management, and process improvement.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Customer service skills appreciated.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on operational efficiency.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for team and stakeholder engagement.
  • Fluency in French is required; additional European languages are a plus.
  • Be able to manage and promote internal training and generate interest among operational teams.
