The purpose of this position is to facilitate the inception meeting of the project ‘Building Asia-Africa BlueTech Superhighway (AABS) in Mozambique and coordinate theory of change workshops under this project. The workshop will be organized by WorldFish and will be held in Mozambique in October 2024.
Objectives:
The consultant is expected to:
- Lead the preparation of a 1-day AABS inception meeting and three systems-based theory of change workshops.
- Co-facilitate the AABS inception meeting and systems-based theory of change workshops.
- Compile the final workshop reports.
- Arrange a one-day AABS project inception meeting and provide a brief meeting report.
- Co-facilitate the one-day AABS project inception meeting, with detailed meeting reports summarizing proceedings and outcomes.
- Arrange a 3-day AABS WP3 systems-based theory of change workshop and provide a brief report.
- Co-facilitate the AABS WP3 workshops and provide detailed reports summarizing activities, discussions, and outcomes.
- Arrange a 3-day AABS WP1 systems-based theory of change workshop with a brief report on organization.
- Co-facilitate the WP1 workshops and provide detailed reports.
- Arrange a 3-day AABS WP4 systems-based theory of change workshop with a brief report.
- Co-facilitate the WP4 workshops and provide detailed reports.
Requirements
Qualifications/Special Skills:
The consultant must have the following skills and competencies:
- At least a postgraduate degree in Agricultural Economics, Aquaculture or Fisheries Economics/Management, Rural Development, or a relevant discipline. A PhD or MSc with more than 5 years of experience is an advantage.
- Proven experience in translating English to Portuguese, with an understanding of linguistic nuances and cultural context.
- Experience leading and facilitating participative processes for value chain mapping to develop theory of change in agriculture or aquaculture interventions.
- Ability to facilitate teams and encourage collaboration.
- Good understanding of the aquaculture and/or fisheries value chain.
- Ability to work with local government, private sector, and community stakeholders, facilitating understanding among groups with different perspectives.
- Knowledge of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Excellent presentation skills.
- High-quality report writing experience.
High proficiency in written and spoken English and Portuguese, and proficiency in any two local languages.
